The Big Day

It has taken me awhile to get this post up. Mostly because I couldn't decide what to share.I was going to share the whole thing but have decided against it. So Mark and I will keep this story to ourselves (for the most part).

Our delivery was induced. There were several reasons for this and it was not my request. The suggestion was made by our doctor for the safety of Chloe. Chloe was my primary concern during our labor; creating an 'enjoyable birthing experience' was not.

The bottom line is that at 11:22 p.m. on May 28, 2010 our little Chloe was born with some help from a wonderful doctor. We were a little nervous for a while but thankfully everything was fine. They did have to take Chloe away for a bit because she inhaled some fluid. Here is our story in pictures (captions below pictures)!

Before the hard work began.

My parents and brother stopped by to offer moral support.

Chloe was not getting enough oxygen so I had to lay on my left side and have oxygen.

This is what pure joy looks like.

Can you see where they used the suction cup on her? She's still recovering from that but it looks sooo much better. Bless her heart; she came out sunny side up (I'd rather not do that again!).

Our precious angel sent straight from heaven.

Perfect family of 3!

Here is our first spongebath at home. Daddy is such a big help!

A BIG THANKS to my mom for helping out the first week. It was nice to have encouragement, moral support and help changing diapers and doing laundry :). Love you!!

  1. You did great Kim! I always get so excited to see pictures of Chloe. You give me peace during my pregnancy! I'm gathering some more questions for you, I hope you don't mind! By the way, Mark looks like a pro! What a great daddy.

  2. Love the photos but am more glad to have been there. I totally understand you keeping some things to yourself. People seem to offer their unsolicited opinion when they don't know the whole story in the first place. Thank you to you and Mark for letting me stay the week even though y'all didn't really need me under foot. Glad Mark is a patient man. :) Love you.

  3. Only a mother understands how truly grateful you are having her there for support and help. Proud of Mark being so dedicated as he bathed his little angel. Chloe is blessed to have loving parents that work together.

  4. I totally agree with keeping some things private. Believe me... unsolicited advice and opinions like your mom said are not always appropriate. I'm so proud of you (and super dad Mark!), Chloe is so precious!
