First-time Mom

People have very strong opinions when it comes to the subject of motherhood and raising children. I’m not going to do what I intended to when I started this post. However, I do want to express one thing.

I will openly admit that I have no concept of what having a baby will be like. But I KNOW that there is not a single first-time mom out there that did. You can’t know until you experience it. If you are a parent, you were at first-time mom at some point. You learned…so will I. What is the right age to have a child? There isn’t one and my age (which is nobody’s business) is not going to determine my ability to raise a healthy and happy child.

Sorry for the soapbox rant. The person this is directed to doesn’t even read our blog. I just needed to get this off my chest.

My mom came this weekend and we had tons of fun! By that, I mean that we worked on the nursery until the point of total exhaustion. It was soooo worth it!! Thanks mom!!! Baby G is going to love her room.

We are going to reveal the nursery very soon but my camera battery died and I’m too lazy to go buy more batteries. You’ll have to wait!

  1. I had a blast too! Hope I didn't tire you out too bad. I totally agree with your rant. I might be a little jaded but I think your Dad and I did a pretty good job with our 1st and we lived far enough away we had to figure most things out for ourselves. You turned out pretty good with no major damage inflicted by us. lol I think God provides a special guardian angel for 1st babies to help new parents with their learning curve.

  2. Kimberly, You are so sweet to give your Mama such dear heart felt thanks for sharing this special time with her. A mother always can know what her child is thinking or needing without even asking. God will give this gift to you when his gift to you arrives. I love reliving the years I was so blessed with my precious little girls. I cann't wait to see the room you and Diane fixed. Love Grandma L.

  4. Hi Kim! Isn't it crazy all the 'advice' -some of it not so great- people feel like they can give you when you're pregnant? It's kind of driving me nuts! I think you and Mark are going to be awesome parents and I feel so lucky that our little baby already has a friend in Chloe :)
