Little things...

Everyone is trying to accomplish something big, not realizing that life is made up of little things.
~Frank Howard Clark, American Screen Writer

My days are mostly the same from day to day. When Mark gets home and asks, "Anything special happen today?" The answer is most always "no." I know what he means and he knows what I mean. The truth is that every single day is special. The entire day.

I am well aware that some day when my children are grown that I will look back and cherish these little things that at the time didn't seem so extraordinary. Of course, knowing this doesn't make it any easier to avoid taking some things for granted. Hard as I try, I have days that are boring or exhausting or trying. I think that's okay, too. It's natural. Oh but I wish I could video tape every little thing that this kid does so someday when I'm feeling nostalgic I could go back and watch some of the 'little things' that I didn't pay quite enough attention to in the moment.

Chloe likes to read to her reflection...

Running as fast as she can. You can tell because her arms can't keep up with her legs...

Smiling after a going down the big slide!

I love her baby bangs...the little curly whisps of hair.

Watching Alice in Wonderland during lunch...a special treat.

  1. I am laughing at Chloe running with her arms behind her - Hahaha! I have so many pictures like that - Julianna runs like a drunkard as fast as she can, giggling, with her arms flailing behind her - it's so funny!! But I know what you mean about wanting to document every little thing- I want to look back one day and remember every little thing!! :) p.s. check out blurb.com - you can actually pull your blog into a book and have it printed. I am working on the one for julianna's first year - its a great way to track milestones etc etc!!

  2. Memories are long and they are something special you can hold on too. You will remember things in a different way than Mark will. That's the beauty of memories. They are unique treasures to the one holding them.
Your "treasure drawer" will never get full. :)

  4. Chloe, your sweet Mother said it so perfect. Those who choose to keep memories forever will have them always in their heart. I cherish them and relive them often. I miss all my children with happy tears and with a smile on my face. I love you all. You look so pretty in your pictures. Glad you like to read and have nice hair to look like a big girl. Give your Mama a big HUG for me.
